The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (VAMA) is a non-profit organization founded in 2000, started with 11 members and today VAMA has 17 members who have been making their restless efforts and contributions to the development of the national economy in overall, as well as the national automobile industry in particular.
Through the years since the Association’s initiation, VAMA members have achieved remarkable progress and proved themselves as the leading contributors to the national economy with over 1.3 billion USD of tax payment and over 65,000 direct and indirect jobs by the end of 2007.
Beside the core business, VAMA member have also actively involved in the social and community development activities, like providing humanitarian and charity donations, sponsoring different programs, such as cultural & art exchange, young talent development support, traffic safety education, and very recently, environmental protection activities with wide community participation.
According to the Government Master Plan to 2010 with vision toward 2020, VAMA members are now making their best to increase market volume and accelerate localization process to enhance the sector’s competitiveness to successfully challenge the Country’s regional and international integration. The current situation has opened good opportunity, but also a great challenge for VAMA members to improve further their business operations, product quality and services to meet increasingly higher requirements of the Vietnamese customers.
Vietnam Motor Show is annual event which is organized once a year by VAMA and is the biggest technological display with state of the art vehicles’ models for the Vietnamese customers.

Motor Show 2008 which was held in Ha Noi from 21st to 28th August, 2008 in
Hanoi
, was the important event and a way of building bridge between manufacturers, suppliers, dealers… and customers, promoting and contributing to the development of the Vietnamese automobile industry. The Show is also the opportunity for the automobiles manufactures to display and introduce the latest models, advanced technologies & equipment, perfect services for vehicles and owners. With the theme “Realizing your dreams”, the Show had focused on providing the Vietnamese customers various choices for their cars in term of design, performance as well as convenience and comfort ability.

in November, 2009.
In the context of the global economic crisis situation, all automobile manufacturers in general and VAMA members in particular are facing great challenges. We, 17 VAMA members now try our best to make efforts to mitigate and overcome difficulties to move forward and contribute more effectively to the national economic development.
